About Us
-Alan Laytner
Our History
Laytner's was started by Joseph & Helen Laytner in 1962. The original store, at Broadway & 81st Street was across the street from the current flagship store. That first Linen Shoppe was barely 300 square feet. When the neighboring portrait photographer left, Laytner's took over the space. A doorway was cut through the sheet rock wall and a bright orange sign declared the location of the "bath shop." Wood shelves offered towels, shower curtains and toilet seats.
Our Standards
Today, Laytner's continues to sell high quality bedding and bath products at reasonable prices. We've cut out the middleman, and we make our linens to exacting specifications. Our sheets, towels, pillows and comforters are OEKO-Tex® Standard 100 Certified. This ensures that they are free of harmful substances through the entire manufacturing process. Our down pillows and comforters use only responsibly sourced goose and duck down which is RDS certified.
